Appleby Rock

 

A neat, easy, straightforward “rock feel” tune over standard blues progression.  Easy to play, easy to listen to.   As with most of the Rudy Volkmann Sextet Book charts, it’s a “head chart:” play the head, assign solos, return to the head to end.

 

Scored (as all the sextets are) for Bb Trumpet, Alto Sax, Trombone, and rhythm section.
