Ballad For The Babu is a sextet arrangement of one of my big band charts (LINK).  A beautiful, soulful ballad with good changes; if you have a soloist that likes emotional, slow rides this is the one for you and your group.  The alto sax takes the melody on the mp#, but it’s scored for a Flugelhorn solo as well.

 

I’d consider letting the rides finish this one out, but a return to the head is also possible.
