In 1978 I was on the faculty of Brenau College, which had an amazing women’s choir under the direction of David Johnson. The kids were amazing and included a couple (3? 4?) altos who could hit a low D with ease.

 

I arranged this Henry Gross hit for them to take on tour - I don’t have anyone’s permission to do so; so if you want to program it and take your chances (which are pretty good) you can - otherwise you may want to contact Blendingwell Music of New York, which owns the rights to it.

 

I have no live recording of this piece, so the mp3 is a FINALE extraction - the sound isn’t particularly satisfying but it certainly gives you a good idea of how the piece goes.
