Joyous Recessional was composed a few years ago for an event at St. Mark’s Church in Augusta, GA, when the pastor just couldn’t come up with a piece he liked for us to use.
 

It is melodic and thematic, formally structured, and relies on quartal harmonies with melody-driven mixed meters.
