The Mountain Suite is a three-movement suite for Oboe Trio (Oboe, Oboe d’Amore, and English Horn). Writing for three instruments with relatively limited range and all in nearly the same overall range presented a real challenge. All three instrumental parts cover the full range of their instruments; and it’s a difficult piece. It’s dedicated to my friend, Rebecca Testerman - the finest English Hornist I know.
 

Each of the movements of The Mountain Suite can be purchased separately - all three can be purchased for $60.00 for hard copy, $45 for the pdfs. The Mountain Suite is also available as mixed woodwind trio (Flute, Oboe, and Clarinet).

I have no live recording of this piece, so the mp3 is a FINALE extraction - the sound isn’t particularly satisfying but it certainly gives you a good idea of how the piece goes.
