Trio for Organ in G started life as just that - a three-voice piece I wrote especially for a friend at DePauw University (Muriel Lindamood) who had been an organist but had damaged her left hand so that she couldn’t really play any more. The right hand and pedals are busy, while the left hand plays a very slow-moving melody.

 

I scored it for brass quintet where it seems to work just fine as well.​
